Wiley Britton Sanders Papers, . 1957-1971

Wiley Briton Sanders (1898-1973) was a professor of sociology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an avid bird watcher. The collection includes the notebooks of Sanders containing detailed observations of birds and their nests within a seven-mile radius of Chapel Hill, N.C., and 57 color photographs illustrating these observations taken by Wallace Patterson, professional photographer.

Wiley Britton Sanders (1898-1973) was an authority on criminology, pioneer in social work, and professor of sociology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
